Tost Lounge
Design solution: This poster was a quick turn around project in which the client offered no ideas. When dealing with multiple bands the solution that works the best tends to be more abstract, and with this poster that was idea from the start. For those who have asked what the man is doing in the image, I think the term butterfly hotdogs was the best description so far.
Colby & Dj Eva with Trent from Head Like a Kite
Design solution: First rule of design research, research, research. With that in mind I myself had to obey the golden rule with this project and was glad I did. This band happened to be something completely different then the previous work from the same artists, which of course turned into a late night session of changing the design to reflect that. The lips were draw for another project that had been passed on and got thrown in at the last minute with an awesome effect. Everything else was stock elements, but works for me.
2009 Film & Animation Showcase
Design solution: The Film and Animation Showcase was put on by a designer friend of mine and when she asked me to do the poster I was at a loss, and of course filled with cliche ideas. After playing around a bit I settled on a photo shot by Audrey when she was a kid at disneyland of the evil queen in snow white, the photo is of mist that the image is being projected on. The negative I scanned from some I had from a bag of old images, and then bam! Sometimes the best solution is just lying around.
Shawn Smith & Fireside Gospel
Design solution: This is another found object poster I put together last summer. The image is an old postcard I bought at goodwill awhile back there was whole group of Lake Washington boat shot's all trying to sell the sweet vacation area's! All the images had a sadness to them perfect for a rock and roll poster.
